My initial idea came from my positive experience of regulating my anxiety and focusing on tasks by writing journal and/or brain dump. I did some searching online and came across this concept called a "math journal", which I have never heard of before. I thought it would be cool if I can make writing math journal to be an essential part of my pedagogy when I teach. And genuinely, as a teacher, instead of marking through a pile of worksheets, which I am not sure to what degree they actually reflects students' learning progress, I would prefer reading through their journals.
